How to use Loopmere
Everything Loopmere does, in the order you'll meet it.
Your first project
Open the sample to try everything, including Plus, or tap + on Projects to start your own. Give it a name, choose knitting or crochet, and add a pattern now or later.
Adding a pattern
Choose a PDF from Files, a photo or screenshot from Photos, or scan printed pages with the camera. You can also share a PDF or an image to Loopmere from another app. Loopmere keeps the file as it is.
The Workbench
Your pattern sits above the counter. Tap + when you finish a row or round. The ruler moves to the next line; drag it to where you are if it's ever off.
Undo and History
Tap undo right after a count, or open History to see and undo any change.
Parts and copies
A part is a piece of the project, such as a back, a front or a sleeve. Copies are for parts you make more than once. Each has its own count.
Steps
A step says what a range of rows needs ("Rows 1–6: knit every stitch"). Link it to the current place in the pattern, and it shows under the count on those rows.
Rules and repeats (Plus)
A rule speaks up on the right rows, such as "decrease every 6 rows" or "switch color on row 24". A repeat is a group of rows worked several times; Loopmere tells you which repeat you're on.
Stop for now
When you put your work down, tap Stop for now and leave a note or a photo. Next time, Projects shows it in Where you left off; tap Pick up here.
Rip back
Unravel rows with a preview of where you'll land. The counters rewind with you, and it can be undone.
Finishing
Mark a project finished, add a photo, and it moves to the Finished shelf.
Search
Search finds projects, notes and yarn, and the words in PDF patterns that have selectable text. Text inside photos, screenshots and scanned pages isn't searched.
Lock Screen, Control Center and the Action button (Plus)
When you count, your project appears on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Add the count control to Control Center, or set the Action button to count a row.
Widgets (Plus)
Add a Loopmere widget to see and count your current row from the Home Screen.
Siri (Plus)
Say "Count a row in Loopmere" or "What row am I on in Loopmere".
Maker's tools (Plus)
Evenly spaced increases and decreases, gauge, and yarn estimates.
iCloud sync
When your devices are signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud on, Loopmere syncs your projects through your own private iCloud. Settings › iCloud shows when it last synced.
Backup
Settings › Your data › Export backup saves everything, patterns included, to a file you can keep. Import backup brings it back.
